
Creative Process for Static Dreams
Character Creation
The character is essentially meant to be the player so they do not have any character traits or pre-made decisions that would affect the gameplay. They are a clear slate for the player to figure out what they want out of the story. For the trailer, I have made my own version of what I would like the character to look like, but there would be customization allowed.









Environment Design
This is a series of explorations on color and mood. I used a lot of soft purple because I wanted the environments to look mystical as well as calm. Most of the explorations are done for the static field which is the game’s “main menu”. Its mood would change depending on the emotion the character is left after the level you last played. This is why I have included red versions for the environments, to see how it would change the feel if the emotion was to show anger/fear, rather than calmness.
